5The best single CD of 50s Rock. Well worth the price.  May 12, 2003 By RicR2
The best single CD of 50s Rock, and 25 songs too! Well worth the price.

All songs are original hits by original artists.

Of 55 CDs of 1950s songs that I own, this is easily the best.

1/4/06 Update: Whoever put this collection together did more than simply pick songs based on sales charts, because two of my personal favorites that didn't chart very high ("Love Potion No. 9" and "Shout") are included.

5Great Music  Nov 01, 2009 By A. Webb
I purchased this CD for a fall get-together of a fun, energetic group of my husband's high school classmates (class of '57). As they all turned 70 years of age this year, I thought a group birthday party/BBQ would be fun. The CD was perfect. I noticed them all singing along at various times during the evening. I think there might have been a little dancing, too. I am totally satisfied with this CD.

5Ultimate Rock and Roll of the 50's  Feb 03, 2010 By J. Kirkley
I actually bought this CD for my father and on Christmas I downloaded it to my ipod...so many classic 50's songs that we all love and remember. Takes me back to my childhood nights listening to my parents with all of their friends...

4Very Good But With Quality Questions  Jul 06, 2009 By Roy F. Johnson
This certainly seems to be a good selection of original artists and original hits. However, I noted a few quality matters.

On "Since I Don't Have You", there is a faint glitch toward the end. I've heard this on two different copies of this CD.

"La Bamba" cuts off abruptly. Other copies of this song may also have this, but I noticed it here.

"Shout" has a tic, the kind of sound you get from a vinyl record.

There may be other quality questions. I haven't reviewed all of the tunes carefully since I didn't need all of them.

Some people might think I'm being picky. Maybe I just notice more because I've done a lot of editing to remove noise when transferring from vinyl to CD. In my opinion, all songs on published CDs should have been carefully edited.

FYI: I'm a record collector of 50 years and a sometimes deejay.

5Songs made me feel as if I was back in the 50's.  Feb 21, 2011 By Maura
This 50's album made me feel as if I was back in the 50's with Buddy Holly, Conway Twitty, Fats Domino, Richie Valens,Elvis Presley and others. The sound was great and the songs were by the original singers. I play this album all the time.
